lyrics
we light fire to not forget
we fall too easy, afraid of our last regret
send the light out into the dark
to cast the shadows away from a wounded heart
we light fire for the tears in our eyes
we light fire waiting for the sunrise
we don't know that it's always gonna be this way
but we're here today
we light fire in communion
another year in a circle around the sun
all alone we escape somehow
a subtle movement, the distance from here 'til now
we light fire for the tears in our eyes
we light fire waiting for the sunrise
we don't know that it's always gonna feel this way
but we're here today
with our hearts aflame
all i want
in this life
is a light
to relieve me from the cold
and the dark
'til the dawn
you cool my head
in the heat
of the day
and you lead me through the night
and the calm
and the storm
we light fire
we light fire
we light fire
we light fire
we light fire for the tears in our eyes
we light fire waiting for the sunrise
we don't know that we're always gonna feel this way
but we're here today
with our hearts aflame
Powerful vocals and affecting lyrics, this is magnificent stuff. Thank you for sharing your art with us Reb!
Clearly, I am late to the party, but happy to be here now and will listen quietly from my corner so as not to break the spell. theUtmost
If Suzanne Vega started this decade she might have sounded like this, good acoustic guitar song observations with a novelistic eye, and a support band that embellishes but never overpowers the music. Found this artist only this year thanks to a Milk Records compilation, which proves they work. Favourite track: "How Much", simply superb, but also check "Sparklers" and "Kore Waits in the Underworld". agutterfan
